250 ml of milk/plant-based alternative/half water half milk
4 tablespoons of oats
4 dates (I'm usually using fresh ones)
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
favourite toppings (fruits, nuts, peanut butter, etc.)
Pour the milk into a sauce pan and add chopped dates.
Warm it up on a small heat until the milk becomes brown-ish from the dates' juice.
Then, add oats and cocoa powder, stir it and keep on cooking.
As soon as oatmeal starts boiling, it will be getting thicker so keep on stirring and cooking it until you get custard-like consistency.
Pour oatmeal into a bowl and add your toppings. If you add peanut butter on hot oats, it will melt and your porridge will taste like snickers!
